Special moments*

--------------------------------------
Some people say they wait their whole life for a special moment,
and when it happens it's over....
just like that, all of a sudden...

But who and what defines what a special moment is??
What lies in a special moment,
and is there actually a formula to make those special things happen?

....Your first kiss, a baby born,
your first time riding a bike by yourself,
being on a beach with someone you know love you,
a night having dinner with your family,
a good reportcard after hard work,
finally buying that pair of shoes you've wanted for so long
or getting a letter from a friend far away in the mail....

Are these "special moments",
or just things waiting to happen in the procedures of life?
And who decides what's special after all?

Something I've discovered only experiencing
things over a 23 years period of time,
is that a moment's specialty is related to the values of the individual...
What's important to you defines if a moment is special or not!
The emotions and the life experiences making up your heart,
being exactly yours,
will decide if you'll hide a memory and ponder upon it over time,
or just let it slip into the book of the forgotten...

Two people can share a moment together;
One walking away thinking it was "okey"
and later passing on to the next step on "the menu of life"...
On the other hand, the second person will rejoice over the moment,
try sharing it with other friends,
finding new inspiration in it and pulling energy out of every second
shared with that other person...

....You kissed but you weren't in love,
you joined the dinner but you despised your family,
you got good grades but didn't care about success or encouraging feedback,
you bought those nice shoes but knew you could buy some new ones
any time if you got sick of them...

What values do you put down to define if a moment is special or not?
What is important to you,
how do you store your riches and what do you bring
with you walking away from a moment shared with someone else?

Sitting in a cafe- window, dangling with my feet,
looking at people, dreaming away
and listening to music that is making me think...
just letting those thoughts wander...
A special moment shared with me, myself and I:)
Just "being" and finding the value of just being me...

How many special moments is your life filled with,
and how do you use them?
What's important to you and in what do you have your values?
....What do you expect from life?....

....Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life....
Proverbs 4, 23
